📖 About the Book

Emma Edwards underwent an experiment to go one whole year without buying clothes, to investigate why we buy, and what might lie on the other side of our habits of consumption.

What began as a money-saving challenge and a personal experiment turned into so much more. The Wardrobe Project is a life-changing journey of being your own inspiration, cutting off the noise of “more,” and making peace with your body by coming home to who you are.

This is a book about consumption, identity, self-worth and learning to like yourself — right now.

🎤 About the Author

Emma Edwards

Emma Edwards is a writer, content creator, podcaster and financial behaviour educator teaching the softer skills of money — the emotional, psychological and identity-based layers that shape how we spend, save and see ourselves.

Best known online as @the.brokegeneration, Emma explores the intersection of money, consumption, self-worth and culture with honesty and humour.

When she isn’t yapping about money, you’ll find her eating blue cheese, snuggling with her cat, or reading Australian noir.

We’ll be creating a private Instagram group chat in the lead-up to the event to share reflections, favourite quotes and gentle discussion prompts.

A Plus Market - Summer 2026

A Plus Market returns to Coburg Town Hall on Saturday 21 February for a celebration of plus size style, creativity and community.

📍 Coburg Town Hall (90 Bell Street, Coburg)
📆 Saturday 21 February 2026, 10am–3pm
🎟 Entry $5 or pay what you can (no questions asked)

Coburg Town Hall will be transformed into a vibrant, welcoming space where fat joy takes centre stage. You’ll find racks and racks of size-inclusive fashion (AU16–32+), featuring a mix of indie designers, slow fashion labels and thoughtfully curated preloved pieces made for bigger bodies. Beyond clothing, expect shoes, accessories, art and community stalls that reflect the depth, talent, and care within the plus size community.

A Plus Market is about more than shopping. It’s about taking up space, trying something new, running into someone you know (or making a new friend), and seeing bodies like yours celebrated loudly and without apology. Whether you arrive with a detailed shopping list or just want to soak up the atmosphere, there’s room for you here.

Food and drinks will be available to keep you fuelled throughout the day, and there will be plenty of places to pause, sit and take things at your own pace.

Coburg Town Hall is wheelchair accessible, and accessibility information will be clearly shared ahead of the event so you can plan your visit with confidence.

If you’ve been before, you know the magic. If you haven’t, consider this your invitation. A Plus Market is a space made by and for plus size people – and everyone who believes fat bodies deserve visibility, style and joy.

A Plus +: Hard + Soft

Introducing A Plus+: a double-bill workshop offering a chat and an activity as part of a safe small group. Think of it like the school holiday program for kids, but for plus size adults. Skills are waiting to be built! Friendships are waiting to be forged! Your people are waiting for you!

What’s on offer for this first session? It’s themed HARD + SOFT. While we adored all your guesses about pillows, candy and [redacted], here’s the actual deal:

Hard: We’ll work to understand and combat anti-fat bias in medical settings using a narrative and collaborative approach. Facilitated by Christie from Eat Love Live.

Soft: Learn to self-regulate using accessible seated and standing breathwork and self-massage. Facilitated by trauma-informed practitioner Jane from Ginkgo Embodiment.

What will you get from it?

Throughout the day, your thinking will be supported by a workbook that you’ll take home afterwards, as well as a collection of further reading and resources. This means you’ll have a purpose-built, personalised game plan full of resources and supports for fighting for the care you deserve and staying soft and regulated throughout. And the best bit? You’ll do it all with your people, making meaningful connections with folks who share similar experiences.

You’ll receive an A Plus+ Hard + Soft kit, which includes your workbook, further reading from AmpleFolk, AND swag from some of our brand pals.
